Nazarbayev and Energy Minister discussed Kashagan project and the low prices of oil
Kazakh Leader Nursultan Nazarbayev met the Minister of Energy Vladimir Shkolnik to discuss a situation in oil and gas sector, power industry, the sphere of environmental protection, nuclear branch and other activities of the department.
According to press officials of Akorda, the head of state paid attention to the implementation of all perspective projects in the branch of electric power, including starting stage of Kashagan, the project of expansion of Tengiz field and the second phase of extension of the Karachagan project.
The Minister of Energy reported that the provided decrease in volume of oil production this year to 77 million tons in the subsequent is planned to fill Kashagan due to an input of a field.
"The low price of oil compelled all companies to revise the budget and minimize the prime cost of oil. As well as around the world, the regime to economy is introduced, but doesn't allow the dismissal of workers from oil and gas sector," Vladimir Shkolnik said.
Following the results of a meeting, the Head of state gave a number of concrete charges.
