Nursultan Nazarbayev, The president of Kazakhstan, noted the importance of creating metropolitan cities in our country during the session on the development of Almaty and preparation for holding the 28th World winter Universiade-2017.

"I think urbanization of largest cities willingly effects to the growth life of megapolis. This is the practice of the world's largest cities like New York City, Singapore and Tokyo," Head-of-State noted.

According to the speech of the president, Almaty is doing well in this development direction, being the donor of the state budget. Astana and Shymkent are holding the urbanization progress next to Almaty.
