The mobile phone market in Kazakhstan grew by 16.1%

Almaty. 11 April. 7kun.kz - According to IDC Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker, in 2016 the mobile phone market in Kazakhstan showed one of the best results among other products of the IT market. In relation to the previous year in quantitative terms, the market grew by 16.1%, in monetary terms, in US dollars, declined by 2.1%.
Chinese brands such as ZTE, Meizu and Xiaomi increased market share, gaining another 3.5% in 2016, primarily due to the leaders. The Indian brand Micromax, which was not present on the Kazakhstan market in 2015, in 2016 occupied 4% of the market. Micromax is popular among consumers in connection with cheaper LTE-devices. Demand for this brand in the near future will be stable. In the category of button phones, the brand has practically become a leader, having occupied more than 20%.
At the end of the year, smartphones occupied more than 85% of the mobile phone market. The average price for a smartphone is $ 247, for an ordinary mobile phone - about $ 20. The price segment to $ 100 fell by more than 7%, in contrast, the segment from $ 100 to $ 300 increased by almost 2 times compared to 2015. The segment of expensive mobile phones from $ 500 was reduced to 15.6%.
