Global cost of living index report submitted in early 2016 ranked the cheapest countries in the world to live in. The report, prepared by research data of International Agency GOBankingRates, put Kazakhstan to the fifth place between Zambia and Saudi Arabia.
The research work considered factors such as the cost of groceries, local purchasing power, rent and local goods and services of that particular country. The ranking report compares Consumer Price Index (CPI) of each country with New York City.
"Kazakhstan borders Russia and China and has a population of 18.2 million people. The local economy relies on Kazakhstan's natural resources like oil, coal and iron ore. Kazakhstan's cheap living is most apparent in its costs for groceries and consumer goods, which are lower than most of the 50 cheapest nations," written in the statement.
Number of statistic research data shows: - Local purchasing power is 38.2% lower - Rent is 88.9% cheaper - Groceries are 74.8% cheaper - Local goods and services are 68.7% cheaperGOBankingRates gave the last place to Belarus. Ukraine (24th place) and Russia (39th place) are also included in the list of rating.
